memories & banana bread.

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your own stories of loss... it's not everyone that can understand that a pet is apart of your family so your words have meant so much. If you have furr kiddos running around the house right now, please give them big hugs for me!

I'm missing Shiraz terribly, he filled up our hearts and home with so much love. I miss the simple things like when i'd make the bed and he'd take a run for it between the covers, or how he and I would share a midnight snack of cheese and crackers, goat cheese was his favorites too :) The hubs and I are constantly saying "remember when Shiraz did this or that?" He is so incredibly missed.

But i'm also trying to concentrate on the good things that are going on in my life because there happens to be some amazing things happening right now too. I can't wait to tell you more but for now I wanted to tell you about the banana bread that I made this weekend. After a tough week, I decided that some comfort food was in order so banana bread it was. I followed Martha's recipe and it was banana yum. What are your favorite comfort foods?

You must have so many funny and sweet Shiraz stories, I'm sure it is comforting for you and your hubby to miss him together.
I always use Martha's recipe when I make banana bread!! It turns out so moist. There really is something about banana bread isn't there?? It does make you feel better.
Thinking of you, and hoping you have a great week,
    xo

I am very sad! I also have a cat and she's almost 15 years old. I hope I still have many years with her!
Your banana bread looks so delicious! I've never tried one, or baked, but I have a recipe here and I will try it!

  12. awe love, i know this well. those are the dearest memories, it's hard sometimes because i feel like they are so slight, i have to actually look at a photo or video of Koda to get the full essence again. is this the way for everyone or is my mind a sieve that needs tighter mesh? the memories you've shared of Shiraz do make me smile though, he certainly liked fine dining and warm cozy nooks! my thoughts are with you Tash.

wellness is on it's way with something so d-vine as that banana bread. it looks incredible, great job and always, always, always...your photos hit the mark of excellence. and what darling china! is that an heirloom? my mom taught me to enjoy home cooking on beautiful pieces like this, it always tastes so much better that way too.

honestly, this is so bad but for comfort food i usually turn to mac n' cheese or a really good Indian meal...oh, Thai food. YES! especially when i have a hangover, not very often mind you but when i do it's a cure all. think it's got to do with the spices. who knows for sure, but i dig the results. baha! much love to you friend!!!! ♥
