It rained all weekend but I must admit I loved having the excuse to stay indoors. I like a rainy weekend now and then, the sound of rainfall is soothing and good for the soul. Behind our house we have a large pond (an overflow from nearby Mille Îles River) and in it lives frogs, turtles and ducks. At night we fall asleep to the music of crickets and frogs humming and in the morning we wake up to the sound of ducks quaking. There's even a pair of geese that have been dropping by in the early mornings lately and they honk honk honk non-stop, I always wonder what they're saying!
But I needed to be somewhat productive this weekend, can't just laze around listening to rain and ducks all day long! So I baked oatmeal raisin cookies, they're good for the soul too right!
I followed this recipe and they turned out très délicieux! Cookies with milk and the sound of rain... it was a good weekend yes. How was yours?
OOoo! I love these! they look so yummy!
ReplyDeleteit rained here as well and i loved it. i love the photograph

ReplyDeleteWe had a gorgeous day Sat. until about 5pm and then it rained and rained through Sunday. Boo!!
We went to see a movie and the kiddos had sleepovers and such.
I'm glad you had a good weekend with all the honking and quacking wildlife :) That sounds like it would be heavenly.

ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had the perfect kind of a weekend! Rain, milk, cookies....it really doesn't get any better than that! Hope the upcoming weekend is as wonderful for you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteme too Tash! it always is a cozy thing and makes me feel less guilt about staying in. bless the rain and it's pitter-patter over our heads....under a roof of course! ; )
ReplyDeletewhere you live sounds like a dream. to hear those sounds at night would be heavenly for us. the other night there was a rave party going on and all we heard was "bump-bump-bump". omg, enough to drive us crazy. it doesn't happen often, thankfully but sometimes this store rents it's space out for a party. sorta sucks.
being that i'm a computer screen (and a few provinces) away from those amazing cooks is hard to take. they look like some pretty tasty bites indeed. love that photo. it looks like something out of a magazine. happy new weekend beautiful. ♥
