weekend bits.

It was a bit chilly this weekend but that didn't stop us from heading to our local ice cream shop to share a yummy banana split :)

The hubs and I also took a trip to Little Italy and picked up everything we needed to make dinner for my mom yesterday. We prepared veal cannelloni's, fennel sausages, grilled eggplant and cannolis for dessert. Gracias por toda mama! Feliz dia de las madres!

To the mom's reading, I hope you were celebrated and showered with love yesterday too!

  2. Yum!!!!! De la crème glacée Québécoise!! I miss good ol' banana splits! They remind me of driving up to my family's cottage growing up. There's something these longstanding places do so much better than the 'new' and 'mod' ice cream spots in the city. I hear the weather is improving in Quebec though! Believe it or not it's probably colder down here now!!!

    Love the new banner!

The things you picked up to make for dinner sounds like it was pretty amazing.
We had similar weather, but we were able to have a fire and s'mores Sat. night. We went to a movie yesterday and had a nice dinner out.

Glad you had a good weekend,
    xo

  13. well hey there pretty new header and "about me" linky!!!! i lourve it total Tash - lollies make me happy, especially when they are the swirly ones like that. it was a cheery welcome tonight and then this awesome post also took me into a world of lip lickin' yums!!

i think it's so cool (literally!) to see everything in French, i just have to get back to Québec and Montréal one day soon. and i adore the shots of you both with smiles and spoons full, nice touch!

your Mom must have been in 7th heaven with the spread you whipped up, man oh man it sounds so good. ours doesn't compare in the least. my bro and his fams flew in from T-dot, so everyone was there and that was great but Mom ordered from a so-called special caterer and the food was sort of ugs. when we served it up i think her exact words were "never in my life have i seen something less appetizing!" omg, it was very nast but we all had a laugh over it and then a heck of a lot more wine to compensate ; )

glad to hear yours was a winning combo! makes me keep the faith. scraps for Shiraz????? ♥

pea ess: the story about your mom's old typewriter was incredible, oh those let-gos...how we knock our heads over it hey?! xo
