reflecting.

There's a stack of pregnancy books piling up on my night table but I haven't felt like reading any of them yet. I'm so thankful for friends who've given me books, movies and documentaries, but right now i'm listening to my body and enjoying the butterflies fluttering about in my belly. I'm 19 weeks now, i'll be half way through my pregnancy this time next week. Time is flying!

Every morning, the first thing I do is look at myself in the mirror, my body is changing so fast now. I haven't experienced morning sickness, nausea or cravings, so it's really only now, looking at my reflection in the mirror and seeing my belly getting rounder with life, that it feels more "real". I love being pregnant and mama's keep reminding me that the best is yet to come. I can't wait.

I think i'll take a bike ride to the lake and start one of my books this weekend... what are your plans?

  5. Tash, The Alchemist is one of my favorite books of all time! it helped me out when i was going through my own journey in search of meaning, constantly bumping into mirages was not really working out in the reals if you get my drift ; )

couldn't be a more perfect quote to use for this post and the photo i'm assuming J took is so lovely! biking to a lake sounds so good to me right now, tag along mayhaps?! wishing you a wonderful weekend, to all your family! Sean's going to the Island to visit his folks and i've got a dirty 30 to celebrate with a gf plus lots of mom time. thinking of you and the next weeks BIG marker of time. xo ♥

  6. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. I'm so pleased you stopped by because it led me back to yours.

I can't wait to feel those little flutters. We're now 14 weeks so still a few weeks to go. And you're so lucky to have had no sickness. I had the worst nausea for about 6 weeks straight.

I'm looking forward to sharing this journey with you xx

ps. Hoorah for guilt-free baby shopping! x

  8. Enjoy every single moment of your pregnancy. I had morning sickness, nausea, cravings and anything else that could be thrown at me and you know what I wouldn't change it for anything! I'm due in just over 2 weeks and my favourite thing to do is lie still in bed early in the morning feeling my baby kick about.. Pregnancy is one of the most natural and wonderful things us women can do and we should embrace it entirely :-)

Reminded me of when I was expecting my oldest, almost 18 years ago. I got heaps of books, and I never opened any of them. Thinking, my body knows how to do this. Just felt right that way... enjoy your magical time. It's like nothing else you'll ever experience :)

ps regarding all of the baby books: I like what jodi wrote. You don't really need to know all that much... enjoy the stillness while it's here.
